  • Hello, Brew Tech Parents:

We want to let you know that free covid tests for our students will be provided next Wednesday,
January 12, 2022, in the school. UAB School of Public Health is collaborating with ADPH and the State
Dept. of Education to offer these free and voluntary covid-19 tests.

These tests are not the “brain swab,” but a gentle swab in the nostrils, with results in 24 hours. Only the
school nurse will see the results, so your child’s privacy is protected. The school nurse, Lane Sievers, RN,
will follow district-approved protocols in the event of a positive result.

We are sending home an information sheet and a consent form if you want your child to be tested. You
can enroll your child simply by scanning the code on the information form, or use the paper consent
form. All consents must be submitted by 1/11/2022.

Please know this test is only for your Brew Tech enrolled child. The teachers and staff of Brew Tech will
also be able to take this test, but not family members, etc.
If you have any questions, please email Nurse Sievers at:

    Thank you!
